El Ministerio de Cultura, junto con la Secretaría de la Convención de 2001 de Patrimonio Cultural Subacuático, organiza una Reunión Regional para los países del Grupo I de la UNESCO, es decir, Europa Occidental y Norteamérica.

El objetivo de esta reunión es compartir y poner en común casos concretos de estudio, así como buenas prácticas, en la gestión e investigación del Patrimonio Cultural Subacuático, de todos los países que conforman este grupo, hayan ratificado o no la Convención. De esta forma, reuniendo a los representantes de estos 26 países, se podrá aprender de primera mano sobre las políticas, retos y dificultades y casos de éxito, enmarcados dentro de los principios de la Convención de 2001 y de su Anexo, incluso de aquellos Estados que, aunque no hayan ratificado la Convención, trabajan en esta línea. Será una oportunidad para aprender los unos de los otros, así como de abrir posibles vías de colaboración. Finalmente, la reunión será un buen escenario para acompañar y facilitar el proceso a aquellos Estados que estén considerando la ratificación de la Convención.

La reunión será presencial, en el Auditorio del Ministerio de Cultura (c/San Marcos, 40. Madrid), los días 20 y 21 de junio.

The Ministry of Culture, together with the Secretariat of the 2001 Convention on Underwater Cultural Heritage, is organising a Regional Meeting for UNESCO Group I countries, i.e., Western Europe and North America.

The aim of this meeting is to share and specific study cases and best practices in the management and research of Underwater Cultural Heritage from all the countries that constitute this group, whether they have ratified the Convention or not. In this way, by bringing together representatives from these 26 countries, it will be possible to learn first-hand about the policies, challenges, difficulties and success stories, framed within the principles of the 2001 Convention and its Annex, including from those States that, although they have not ratified the Convention, are working along these lines. It will be an opportunity to learn from each other, as well as to open up possible ways of collaboration. Finally, the meeting will be a good opportunity to accompany and facilitate the process for those States that are considering ratification of the Convention.

The meeting will be held in the Auditorium of the Ministry of Culture (c/San Marcos, 40. Madrid), on 20 and 21 June.
