Museo Cerralbo

The Cerralbo Museum is a house-museum that preserves the original atmosphere it used to have when it was the residence of the Marquis of Cerralbo, Don Enrique de Aguilera y Gamboa (1845-1922), and his family.

The palace, built at the end of the 19th century, contains one of the most highly valuable private collections of the moment, and reflects the lifestyle of the Madrid aristocracy of the time. This collection, consisting of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts and archaeological objects, was bequeathed to the Spanish State in 1922. Among the 32 rooms, the Ballroom and the Library on the main floor or the Garden stand out, and contribute to making this palace one of the most unique corners of the city of Madrid.
